Church Beck Canyoning session is a private booking solely for you and your friends/family.

I can not recommend highly enough. Booked for a birthday trip for my husband and two teenage boys.

Will put us all at ease by his professionalism and expertise. He ran through all the safety procedures and was conscious of the social distance.
The jumps varied in height and difficulty and we climbed up a waterfall which was quite intense due to the flow of water. The boys loved the challenge of the bigger jumps into deep pools. I bottled the biggest jump but wills patience was amazing! I’m sorry I didn’t do it! He made a climb down which I did do with a smaller jump.
If you are looking for a post lockdown adventure this is the place to go, great communication, great location and staff. Thank you so much!

Challenge level & duration

Canyoning challenge level

This is level 2 canyoning as it’s a half-day, however, we have a totally flexible approach and can make this as super challenging as desired. This is an enclosed canyon and so when you’re in your in. It makes it really fun & enthralling.

We build up the sessions starting accessible observing, challenging & judging your skills before heading into the upper section where the full-on fun begins. There are options if you don’t feel you can do it but want the others in the group to continue so don’t feel you’ll hold your friends back. If you have questions about this please get in touch.

Canyoning duration

Half-day sessions run as follows:
Morning 9:30 am to 12:30 pm – Afternoon 1:30 pm to 4:30pm. That’s three full hours of activity.

Full-day sessions run as follow:
9:30 am to 4:30 pm. That’s seven full hours of activity.

We realise how valuable your time is and this reflects in our attention to giving you a full session. We always get to the meeting venue early arrange our kit and make sure we are ready to go. This enables us to optimise the contact time with you, giving you real value for money and attention to your experience.

Half-day activities are really fun and do combine very well with other activities. E.g. many people book rock climbing or abseiling in the morning and ghyll scrambling or canyoning in the afternoon.

Equipment

The kit we provide:

For all our ghyll scrambling and canyoning sessions, we provide full-length wetsuits with arms. These are very flexible and comfortable. We have a wide range of sizes to enable a good fit.

We also provide helmets, harness and buoyancy aids where appropriate depending on which session you are on.

Do you need to bring anything?

Yes, please bring socks and trainers to wear during the session. These must-have laces and be proper shoes (do NOT bring slip-on water shoes).

Under the wetsuit please wear a swimsuit or underpants. If you have a rash vest, thermal top or football shirt, this will be a nice layer to wear but is not essential.
You will need a big towel for afterwards and lads don’t forget a spare pair of underpants.
And lastly, we ask everyone to bring a pair of shorts (ideally board shorts) but these are to give you some dignity and protect the bum of the wetsuit.

Group size details

We provide private activities sessions solely for you, your friends & family.

You are NOT joined to any other group.

We believe in delivering high-quality instruction just for you, and so we do NOT join individuals together to make a big group.

We have found our clients prefer the benefit of the activity being just for them and the personal service this enables. We employ quality staff to run the session for you and this is why we charge for the instructor, allowing us to focus on giving you the best experience.

All technical kit included. No hidden costs.
We work on a max group size of 1 instructor to 8 clients. We will provide as many instructors as your group needs.

Prices

Church Beck Canyoning

Your private half day session costs £250 and includes up to 5 people.
Each additional person costs:
Adult £40 per half-day session.
Child £30 per half-day session (under 18 yrs)

If you book two half day sessions on the same day you will receive a full day discount making the whole day only cost £375, plus any additional people.

On the day info

You will meet your instructor at either 9:30 AM or 1:30 Pm session and they will issue you the kit and explain all about the activity.

You will meet at Station Yard car park in Coniston.

There are no toilets here so please use th local village facilities before meeting.

You need to bring:

To wear under the wetsuit you need underpants, or a swim suit. If
you have a rash vest or football shirt then great.
You will need socks and trainers or boots on your feet (NOT wellies)
You will also need a pair of long board shorts or tracksuit bottoms to
protect the seat of the wetsuit and also give you some dignity. (these need a draw cord so they
don’t fall down with the water rushing over them.
If you always feel the cold when others round you are warm bring a
windproof jacket. (not essential)
